Avenue Primary School – Shaline Manhertz

Issue: The Avenue Primary School senior leadership team were facing a challenging period as a result of a proposal to become an academy. This led to 11 days of staff strike action which represented disrupted education for their pupils. The senior leadership team wanted to re-establish their overall goal and ensure they were equipped to support their school community.

Solution: We worked with the senior leadership team at Avenue Primary School to develop a workshop that helped them to address how they wanted to move forward and present themselves to parents and the community. The workshop focused on identifying the individual strengths of the team and aligning those strengths with their whole school objectives.

Result: The senior leadership team reported an increased sense of whole school cohesion following the workshop with all attendees reporting a positive experience. In addition, following the workshop the repercussions of strike action were evaluated in an objective fashion and next steps proposed and agreed for greater cohesion.
